Discover the essence of the Mediterranean through a carefully curated experience centered on wine and high-quality local olive oil. A selection of regional wines and hand-picked oils takes center stage, accompanied by tapas crafted from local ingredients and designed specifically to enhance their aromas, nuances, and qualities. It is an intimate and special gastronomic journey that invites you to discover, savor, and appreciate the richness of our land in every glass and every drop.
The surroundings
In the heart of the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park, where landscape, light and the Mediterranean come together, Casa Medina offers an experience in which the land itself takes centre stage.
A rural house built around a very clear philosophy: celebrating the artisanal, the local and the creative, bringing together projects born from this land and creating, through them, moments to be enjoyed slowly and without hurry.
This wine tasting is much more than a tasting. It is a meeting point for producers, artists, music and gastronomy; a sensory experience in which every element tells a story.
The House of Wine
The evening begins with a guided wine tasting by Bodega Sierra Almagrera, a winery based in Cuevas del Almanzora whose wines express the distinctive character of the Sierra de Almagrera and the Almerian landscape. It is an opportunity to discover its wines, its identity and a way of understanding wine that is deeply connected to its origins.
The experience continues with the organic extra virgin olive oils from Campos de Uleila, a producer that represents the excellence of Almería’s olive-growing tradition. Born in the unique landscape of the Almería desert, these oils bring new textures, aromas and nuances to the experience.
The Senses in Play
But at Casa Mdina, the experience goes beyond taste. Art is also part of the table. The collaboration with Galería de Arte Trino Tortosa brings a visual and cultural dimension to the evening, creating a dialogue between the space, the artworks and the landscape surrounding the house.
And providing the soundtrack to it all is the live music of Arei. Their acoustic sound moves elegantly between pop, bolero, flamenco and Caribbean-inspired rhythms, creating a warm and intimate musical pairing for the evening.
Wine, oil, art, and music thus come together in one place: Casa Mdina, Cabo de Gata.
A celebration of what is born here, of the people who create here, and of a way of enjoying life that embraces authenticity: products with a sense of place, people with passion, and experiences that remain in the memory.
Because there are places that are simply visited.
And there are others that are tasted, heard and felt.
